Børsen: Ladycool er penge værd

Jeg er i chok.

Over at betragtninger om køn og kvindelighed i 2013 stadig kan få kvinder op af stolene på den mest aggressive måde.

Erfaringen har jeg fået i forbindelse med min afholdelse af tre testforedrag med titlen: Kvinde, kende din værdi – vær ladycool! Især er der åbenbart megen provokation i at postulere, at den dag vi kvinder læner os ind i vores egen kvindelighed, og topper vores hårdt indvundne privilegier i samfundet ved også at sætte værdi på de dyder og egenskaber, der traditionelt har ligget til vores køn, kan vi både hæve en højere løncheck og få en højere status.

Interessant er det også at bemærke, at jeg endnu ikke har mødt en eneste mand, der synes at mit standpunkt er underlødigt, undertrykkende eller overflødigt! Tværtimod har jeg kun mødt masser af sympati, eftertænksom nikken og nogle gange ligefrem glad lettelse over min analyse og konklusion.

For det arketypisk kvindelige er nemlig stadig lavstatus. Fx er det stadig finere at kunne tale om Tyrkiets konflikt, Kinas økonomiske og politiske udvikling eller BMW’s seneste coupe-model, end det er at kunne argumentere for barsel til mænd, belyse handlede kvinders håbløse situation eller have en skosamling på over 100 særligt smukke eksemplarer.

Måske er det mig, der er naiv. Men jeg tror det ikke.

Tværtimod oplever jeg, at kvindernes modstand ligger i en sårbarhed, som de ikke vil eje, og en falsk bevidsthed om, at det maskuline er mere værd og statusgivende end det feminine. Hvorfor de kæmper indædt for at udstråle og handle efter de traditionelle symbolske magtmarkører, der findes i især erhvervslivet og på den politiske arena, og som kommer fra de succesfaktorer, der har domineret i den maskuline verden.

Fremtiden ligger imidlertid i at opgradere de arketypiske kvindelige dyder – uanset om de anvendes af mænd eller kvinder! – så de får samme høje status som det maskuline, og derved få et mere balanceret og kreativt samfund. I disse neotribale tider, hvor alle skal arbejde sammen på kryds og tværs, er det, som kan kaldes for feminin kapital med vægt på omsorg, socialitet, dialog, inddragelse og rummelighed, helt afgørende for om det lykkes en organisation at være cocreating i sin struktur, og dermed skabe nye muligheder for sig selv, som er nødvendige for at overleve i en tid med intens global konkurrence og knaphed. Og i denne situation er fx evnen til at turde vise sårbarhed og åbenhed en afgørende faktor for at kunne skabe et kreativt og godt socialt miljø. Parret med villigheden til at skabe resultater.

For at gøre det operationelt, forsøger jeg at introducere et nyt begreb, som indkredser det, jeg vil kalde den nye kvindelighed, og som bla. fortjener netop en højere løncheck og flere pladser på direktionsgangen, men som først og fremmest vil frisætte en ny type kreativitet og bidrag.

Jeg kalder begrebet for ladycool.

At være ladycool handler om at (aner)kende sin egen kvindelighed og eje den, så den bliver til et aktiv, fremfor en ulempe. Hvad ”kvindelighed” er, afhænger naturligvis af den enkelte kvinde, men jeg definerer ladycoolness gennem fire sætninger, deri min optik inddrager både det personlige, det kulturelle og det biologiske – og så er det jo op til den enkelte at bruge det i sin egen udgave.

Jeg er smuk.

Jeg er fri.

Jeg er vigtig.

Jeg er elsket.

Jeg iler med at skrive, at de fire sætninger kun er essensen af en lang række historiske, kulturelle og sociale fakta! En kvinde der kan sige disse fire sætninger højt og virkelig mene dem, skaber ikke alene ro i sit indre, men har også en evne til at bidrage på flere parametre, end en kvinde, der ikke ejer den side af sig selv. Udover alle de andre sider, som hun naturligvis også ejer og som ikke har en pind at gøre med køn.

For nej, som kvinde med to lange uddannelser, egen virksomhed og masser af konkurrence, har jeg naturligvis intet ønske om at afstøde de egenskaber, der normalt knyttes til det maskuline felt.

Desuden har jeg spændende nok opdaget, at jo mere jeg tør læne mig ind i min egen kvindelighed, jo mere mand kan jeg også være, når det tjener sagen eller mig bedst. Og i det ligger der en helt ny og fantastisk frihed til at udforske ikke alene mig selv, men sørme også verden omkring mig – og ikke mindst at bidrage på langt flere niveauer!

Yes, det er en påstand. Men tjek den ud. Efterprøv den. Og hvis du er mand, inddrag dem i dit samarbejde med kvinder og se, om det mon skaber et endnu bedre arbejdsklima.
